Project Brief :
One of the surgeons from the team approached to me with their request to design a logo for their team at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand. They provided a brief overview of their work, the purpose behind creating a logo, and how they plan to use it across various platforms.
The team wanted the logo to feel professional, yet not overly corporate. They also wanted to reflect what they are doing and the team work through the logo. Another requirement was to embedded a spinal shape and a subtle Pacifica or Maori context in to the logo.
My Approach :
Once I received their responses to my initial questionnaire, I have suggest them to not to go for a more realistic version of the spine and instead to go with an abstract version of it. This would allow the logo to feel modern, balanced, and more versatile across different mediums. After extensive research, brainstorming sessions, and sketching, I was abled to developed 2 initial concepts and one of the concepts was approved by the team to go to the final steps.
